Philosophy of learning

Adira’s philosophy of learning grounds itself in the following:

  1. Learning should be personalised.

We should meet students where they are and take them through a self-paced, mastery-based learning process. This is only possible with the right integration of technology.

  2. Learning should be challenging.

We believe students learn with a curriculum and pedagogy that allows them to productively struggle, and construct knowledge and skills from it.

  3. Learning should exist at the intersection of the sciences and the humanities.

We believe that we want learners who think about the problems of the world that are worth solving, rather than exist in narrow compartments of subject domains.

Integrations of technology

  • Math Academy

Students at Adira Academy use Math Academy as their mathematics learning platform. It enables students to learn at their own pace through a structured, personalised learning pathway while identifying and addressing foundational gaps, allowing students to strengthen their conceptual understanding, build confidence, and progress towards more advanced mathematical concepts at a pace suited to their individual learning needs.

  • Magic School AI

MagicSchool AI is an educator-focused AI platform built to support teachers with everyday planning and classroom tasks. It helps create lesson plans, rubrics, differentiated materials, and student feedback in a fraction of the time.

  • Reading A to Z

Reading A-Z is an online reading program with a large library of leveled books and reading resources, organized by difficulty so every student can start at the right place. It includes comprehension questions, vocabulary support, and assessments that help track reading growth over time.

How we teach

Four principles shape every class, and the school week is built around them.

  1. Flipped, playlist-based instruction

Students work through a playlist of material before class, so contact time is spent on discussion and application rather than delivery.

  2. On-demand AI tutors

Tutoring is available at the moment a student is stuck, rather than at the next scheduled session.

  3. Choice-based reading and projects

Students choose what they read and what they build, inside a defined academic frame.

  4. Student agency and ownership

Students carry responsibility for their own pace, their choices, and their outcomes.

The academic week

Lower School (Grades 8 to 10)
